Cruelty Free. Vegan. Environmentally Conscious.
Juniper & Hare began with a quiet moment on an evening walk- the sight of a moongazing hare, perfectly still as the light faded over the Essex countryside. It was a powerful reminder of nature’s restorative power and the spark that led to a simple mission - to share a piece of nature’s magic.
Our brand is a tribute to these enduring symbols of renewal - the gentle wisdom of the hare, the grounding essence of juniper, and the promise of new beginnings found in the crescent moon.
We believe sustainable living should be just as vibrant as the world around us. While "eco-conscious" often implies a world of beige, we find our inspiration in nature’s true, luxurious palette: deep woodland emeralds, the kaleidoscopic tones of wildflowers, and radiant sunset oranges that give way to the velvety indigo of twilight.
This respect for the natural world informs every decision we make. Because true wellness shouldn’t be synthetic, we craft our collection exclusively with 100% therapeutic-grade essential oils to invite the unspoiled essence of the wild into your sanctuary. Informed by the quiet wisdom of botanical folklore and crafted with sustainable, vegan ingredients, our products prove that high-performance wellness can be both ethically grounded and beautifully spirited.
We invite you to embrace a lifestyle where your personal wellbeing and the planet’s health can flourish in harmony. From our wild footpaths to your home - joining you on a journey of vitality, purpose, and renewal.
Wellbeing Powered by Nature.

The precise burn time of your candle will be affected by a number of factors, including room temperature and any draughts, as well as the blend of essential oils it contains and the vessel itself, (whether it is a tin, glass, etc).
We use premium, responsibly sourced soy wax which burns cleanly and slowly to maximise the life of your candle and give an optimum and consistent scent throw.
A guide to approximate burn times are as follows:
Mini/Travel tin 80g - 15-20 hours
Large Tin 180g - 30-40 hours
Glass Special Edition 200g - 35-50 hours
Glass Special Edition 220g - 45-50 hours
Although your candle will eventually come to an end, if you have chosen one containing crystals their energy will continue long afterwards, so please remove them and keep them safe.
Place one or two wax melts (dependent upon the size of the melt and size of your warmer) into the clean, dry bowl of a tealight burner or electric warmer. Then either light a standard, unscented tealight underneath or turn on the electric device to melt the wax and release fragrance.
Wax melts can also be used as room or drawer fresheners, although always take care to ensure that the wax does not come into direct contact with fabrics or other delicate surfaces. To avoid this wax melts can be placed in fabric bags or pouches and hung in a wardrobe or placed amongst clothing to keep it smelling fresh.
Never leave burners unattended, and never add water to the wax. Do not move the melter or the wax while it is still hot.
Not all candles (or reed diffusers) are created equal!
Essential oil candles and diffusers offer a cleaner, healthier, and more therapeutic experience compared to cheaper high-street alternatives, which often use paraffin wax and synthetic fragrances. These ingredients can release toxins such as benzene and toluene (a common cause of headaches and respiratory issues). Paraffin wax also produces more soot, which can be noted on candles when black, dirty rims are seen around the jars when they are lit. Artificial fragrances can also release chemicals, such as phthalates, which are linked with disrupting hormones and endocrine imbalances.
Synthetic scents only mimic natural perfumes and do so without the wellness benefits. Although artificially scented candles often have a strong smell when unlit (called “cold throw") they often have a poor hot throw (scent when lit). Essential oils provide genuine, subtle aromatherapy benefits (e.g., lavender for relaxation and peppermint for concentration). As such, we felt it was the natural choice to only include pure essential oils and plant based waxes and oils in our product range, but these ingredients are ultimately more costly, although we believe that it is a worthwhile investment.
The unfamiliar names you might notice on the labels are naturally occurring substances in the essential oils. For example, lavender, neroli and bergamot, to name just a few, will contain linalool, which is natural component of the scent.
Another example is caryophyllene, which is found in the essential oils extracted from many different spices and food plants, such as black pepper, thyme, rosemary and cinnamon, and is the part of the plant that gives the oil its distinctive spicy scent.
We only use 100% pure essential oils and source all our aromatherapy oils from a UK based, family owned business that is an Aromatherapy Trade Council member and which guarantees that its products are 100% pure, natural, undiluted and also vegan and cruelty free.
We are dedicated to providing you with the highest quality products. All our products contain pure essential oils and are carefully created to work to support various concerns, such as relaxation, focus, enrichment, improvement in sleep and reduction in stress and anxiety levels. Whilst essential oils and crystals have been used for thousands of years in many cultures, the references to the benefits of use are provided for information only and nothing on this site, our social media, or other media, is intended to offer or replace professional medical advice or treatment. It is recommended you consult your GP or healthcare professional if you have any health issues or concerns. If you already have pre-existing health problems, are taking medication, are pregnant or breast feeding, it is advised that you seek advice from a medical professional or healthcare provider before introducing any new products.
